We are a collective of university-based teacher educators and researchers with substantial experience as teachers and school leaders. We reject the reform/defend dichotomy that so often afflicts discussions of teacher education and are working towards transformative programmes of profession-led teacher development to which we believe universities can make a distinctive contribution.
Our first publication – Teacher Development 3.0: How we can transform the professional education of teachers – has now been downloaded free from this website over 1500 times. All of our work is primarily intended to stimulate innovation among higher education-based teacher educators but we also wish to address the teaching profession, parents/carers and the wider community. We see education as a public good and the means by which societies become fairer and more equitable as well as enabling individual advancement.
If you believe that teachers matter, teacher education really matters.
